I LOVED the game spinner on Isbaha's page earlier in the month and asked her about doing a tutorial.  She sweetly obliged.  :)

September's Members' Blog Hop!

So much great inspiration this month!  Honestly, I don't know why  you would need to go anywhere else.  (Insert Big Cheesy Grin Here)

We have another great hop lined up for you!  I really love having YOU participate and getting to show off your creativity!  It is one of the best features of our month.

Start with Jemma and then hop from blog to blog on this list to see our Project Completion Challenge (Finish a project you have already started or make something you have been really wanting to make).  We gave a bit of latitude and streeeeeeeetched our "rules" a bit to make this more of an anything goes challenge.  :)

Make sure to leave a nice comment at each blog...I know they would love to hear from you!

Inspired?... You will be!

Sorry this post has been missing the last few months. Busy times!

But that's not to say that I haven't been looking around at what is inspiring us on the internet. And I'm here to share another (not so) new trend. Or rather a comeback.

When I first started scrapping back in 2006, there were a lot of shapes around. It was the done thing to cut papers into shapes and I was even known to cut my pictures too! Then it all went away for a bit and now shapes are back.

A few months ago, I talked about the geometric triangle and today I'd like to highlight the circle. I have a layout from way back where everything is circular and I haven't done that for a long time but I noticed how many layouts have been featuring circles - papers, vellum, embellishments though not so many circular photos.

Here are a few layouts that I'm particularly inspired by and I'm impressed at how modern these circles look:

Amy Tangerine for Studio Calico
Maggie Holmes for Studio Calico
Elizabeth Kartchner at Two Peas

Paige Taylor Evans at Two Peas
And here are just a few stash items that have a circular focus. I think these would all be great, and easy, to counterfeit, don't you?
Jillibean Soup at Scrapboo.com
I guess I could fussy cut something like this but I'm thinking that for those of you with a Silhouette, this would be a cinch!
Studio Calico at Two Peas

Dear Lizzy paper at Two Peas
Another super item to counterfeit - I just adore the gentle look of this paper

And how about a sketch to get your circles turning?

So, get your circle cutters out and add some to your next layout!

Challenge #3: Game Elements

My family is BIG into games.  We only have one slight problem.  ME.  I am highly competitive and don't like to lose.  So I am constantly working on my attitude especially when playing with my kids.  LOL

Challenge #3:  Game Element Challenge:  Use a game element (spinner, letter tiles, playing cards, ect.) on your project.  You can use premade or make your own!

Master Forgers?  What do you have for us today?

Guest Designer Isbaha had a fun time making game elements to add to her project!

Leslie S wants to know what you think she might do with these?

Stephanie used two game elements on her Las Vegas page - tiny playing cards and a Bingo sheet. You can view the full layout over on her blog

Dawn used some adorable little playing cards on her LO.
Check it out right here.

Challenge #2: Chalkboard Challenge

Chalkboards may not be politically correct anymore, but they are certainly on trend!  CHA was FULLY of papers, stickers and embellishments that embraced this humble and increasingly old fashioned school prop.

Challenge #2:  Chalkboard Challenge:  Get inspired by the chalkboard trend on your project!  Find a photo that inspires you or get creative and make your own!

Hey...I Can Make THAT!

September Tutorials

Welcome to "Hey...I can make THAT!"  A monthly post to help you truly counterfeit many of the components of the current month's kit.  No need to go out and purchase...just use the supplies you already have to create some of the freshest and trendiest products out there.  Here you will find links to our amazing design team members' blogs and/or links to other craft sites on the web showing how to make these amazing products.

This month is chock full of tutorials.  Today, we have counterfeits by our talented Master Forgers from the inspiration kits from Citrus Twist (Scroll down to JULY), but be sure to check back often this month as we will also WOW you with knock-off versions of many of the products featured at Summer CHA.

Lesley G shows us how to make these polaroids.

Julene also has a version of polaroids on her blog.  Check them out here.

Leslie S makes her own geotags & papers.

This month's guest designer Isbaha used her creativity to forge a TON of items.

First, a patterned paper with a blurred effect.  She used this paper in her new blog header as seen below.

Next up, one of my all time favorite papers from the Crate Paper Pier Collection.  I bought this one twice (and used it), but would always love to have it in my stash.  With this tutorial, I'll never have to go without!

Check out all the details on those dreamy clouds here.

And how yummy is this chevron pattern paper (another Crate paper knock off)?

Isbaha teaches you all the tricks to this forgery here

Last, but not least, she shows us how easy it is to make kraft and white big chevrons here.

And if you think that is a lot, wait until you see what else is in store.  You will be saying all month, "Hey...I Can Make THAT!"  Be sure to share what you DO make over on the September Mr. Linky!
